Description of Service:
Duane Reade's DR Express pharmacy kiosks are the industry's only interactive kiosks that provide access to pharmacy staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions and process prescriptions. The pharmacy kiosk is equipped with a flatbed scanner, web camera, touch-screen monitor, and voice communication, allowing individuals to interact with a pharmacist as if they were in the same room. Kiosk users can have a live conversation with a dedicated Duane Reade pharmacist to discuss drug interactions and other questions, transmit new prescriptions, order refills, and transfer existing prescriptions to the pharmacist. Prescriptions that are ordered through the pharmacy kiosk can be picked up at any of Duane Reade's 260+ stores.

DR Express kiosks can be placed anywhere in institutions with a large volume of prescriptions (e.g., companies, hospitals, clinics, medical office buildings, physicians offices, emergency departments). Duane Reade will install the DR Express pharmacy kiosks at no charge and will cover all costs, including hardware, software, monitoring, and servicing of the kiosk.

Locations:
Duane Reade has over 60 pharmacy kiosks in operation. These include:
  • Duane Reade Stores: Customers can save time and skip the pharmacy line. Over 50,000 customers have used the kiosk 24/7 to drop off prescription, even if the pharmacy is closed.
  • Physician Offices: Patients may drop off prescription directly from their physician's office building. Prescriptions are then ready within 15-20 minutes at any Duane Reade pharmacy.
  • Hospitals: Mount Sinai, Bronx Lebanon, Lutheran Medical and Lenox Hill Hospital are only a few of the names that have launched the kiosk service in their ER, clinic or main lobby of the hospital.
  • Companies: Citigroup, Viacom, The Federal Reserve Bank, Time, Inc., NewsAmerica and other large NYC employers, now offer this free concierge service to their employees.
